Patterns the Band Makes Public Debut on the Kentucky State Fair Stage

Music gave me a place to land during a hard time and changed my direction. Patterns lets me keep growing and give that purpose to others. Taking the Fair stage together meant everything.”

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, KY, UNITED STATES, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Louisville six-piece, made up entirely of musicians 19 and under, brings the sounds of the 70s, 80s and 90s to a new generation

What started with a group of young musicians who simply loved playing together officially became something more on Aug. 22, when Patterns the Band stepped onto the Kentucky State Fair stage for its first public performance.

The Louisville-based six-piece is made up entirely of musicians ages 19 and under, but the music they love reaches back decades. With a catalog rooted in the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s, Patterns moves through classic rock, pop and soul with strong musicianship, live energy and a genuine respect for the records that came before them.

The band was developed and backed by The Creative Collective, a Louisville nonprofit supporting creatives as they build opportunities in their respective fields. Many of the members first played together through School of Rock, where years of training, rehearsals and performances created a foundation that bassist Mylo Naomi believed could become something of its own.

For Mylo, 19, creating Patterns was personal before it was ever a business plan.

“Music gave me a place to land during one of the hardest stretches of my life, and it genuinely changed the direction I was headed in,” Mylo said. “Patterns started because I wanted to keep playing, keep growing and create something that felt like ours. Bringing these musicians with me and then watching all of us walk onto the Kentucky State Fair stage together — that was a pretty incredible moment.”

The full Patterns lineup includes Mylo Naomi on bass, vocalists Nyx Hamm and Jacob Schack, guitarist Thomas David, keyboardist Tyler Funk and drummer Sam Kimes. Each brings a different personality and musical point of view to the group — from Hamm’s wide vocal range and Schack’s connection to soul-driven songs, to David’s focus on bringing an original approach to guitar, Funk’s love of performing and Kimes’ experience playing memorable stages, including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Behind the stage, the Patterns team also includes social media manager Elyse, who helps shape and share the band’s growing social presence while capturing the personality, performances and day-to-day story of the group.

Every member of Patterns is currently in school or college, and education remains the priority. The band is being built around those commitments — not in place of them — with rehearsals, performances and future touring balanced alongside classes, academic goals and the individual career paths each member is pursuing. Patterns is an important project for the group, but one designed to grow with them as they continue building their lives beyond the stage.

Mylo brought together former bandmates who shared both the musical foundation and the commitment needed to turn the idea into a working band. A demanding rehearsal schedule, continued development and guidance from industry professionals helped move Patterns from an idea into a full live show.

Members of the band had also previously shared the stage with Kentucky country artist J.D. Shelburne during their formative years, an experience that helped introduce the young performers to the pace, preparation and connection required to play for a live audience.

The Kentucky State Fair performance now marks the beginning of the band’s next chapter.

Patterns is managed by The Glaeser Group, a Louisville-based firm specializing in career branding, marketing and talent management. The firm oversees the band’s brand development, digital presence, booking and long-term career strategy as Patterns begins expanding its presence throughout the region.

Next on the horizon: more live performances, continued development and preparations for a planned summer 2027 tour, including efforts to secure independent transportation that will allow the band to take its show beyond Louisville.

For a band whose members grew up learning songs written decades before they were born, there is something fitting about where Patterns is headed — taking music generations already love and giving audiences a reason to experience it live all over again.
